NO, but the phone isn't doing something it's suppose to do. it also still likes to close whilst i am typing a text message, and the predictive type seems to not be working as well, or quickly as before-and i CAN'T type that fast.

so my search continues, i am pretty close to pulling the trigger on going back to a blackberry. hmmm.
aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-57247198117017362362008-09-09T01:23:00.000-07:002008-09-09T01:50:53.351-07:00Goodbye, My Friends I Love You All*so let me start by hoping (and uttering a silent prayer) that this silly posting doesn't somehow become an ironic and untimely post... ps - nerd alert! pps - i am eating thrifty chocolate malted crunch a i type this. it'll make sense in a sec.

i like science. if i didnt suck at math i just might be a nuclear physicist. some of you might have read that the world is going to end on wednesday. i for one say, bring on the science, collide some sub-atomic particles, show us the video footage and LAUGH whilst doing it all. i know those CERN scientists have a sense of humor, the proof is in the puddin'.
i for the record, do not believe the world is going to be swallowed into a man-made blackhole, but i do think it is slightly possible, though not probable, that come wednesday parts of europe may need new class photos taken for google earth. i pray it all goes according to plan and we discover even more about our little 'verse. if that youtube vide wasn't enough i'll let brian cox explain, he's better at science than I, and he's got better hair. watch his TED video here. and if you don't know what TED is, you just found out, go watch, learn and be better for it.

oh and tell all the people you love how much you love them then go eat your favorite food sometime today, because i guess there is the slightest chance that we'll all be gone wednesday.

kisses,

Aaron

aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-22643527608306561572008-09-03T01:13:00.001-07:002008-09-03T01:26:29.309-07:00flashin' chrome<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDzaeWCcZ5F02-EhTpzVscWXcqS2dpdpusCigIU0wy_7F-1HsDOBm6z352a7AZGBxwptZyAYz6P_6pTaHcfBkdmYw3SaXNQ1WC85b5OI5wX3MORvyIAnke_5_9yU9-Y3ji5wyzOq8cchlp/s320/nav_logo3.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241708554339339986" />
i pretty much dig everything google has brought into the world. gmail, maps, google sketchup, today they launched their very own web browser, Chrome. i have been a firefox user for quite some time now but after less than a day of use, Chrome is my new browser. i know that i have only begun to discover the tricks and features, but i like it. it is designed with the web in mind. i know, you are thinking aren't all web browsers made with the web in mind? yeah, no. somehow Chrome just works, it imported all my bookmarks and passwords from firefox, and somehow i haven't had to go install all those plug-ins, like you do when you first use a new browser. somehow it all just works. of course this version is called a beta(test/develpoment version) and i have discovered one bug, when scrolling vertically via "virtual scrolling" on my trackpad, Chrome let's me scrool down but not back up a page. hope that gets fixed quick. other than that, my only complaint is certain online accessibilty issues i am having with my school's network, it doesn't recognize Chrome yet, so i have to use firefox to access online classes. go download Chrome and give it a rip.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-24925293785252300692008-08-27T00:20:00.000-07:002008-08-27T00:25:47.030-07:00Good Morning<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEMwZIHf0S0pDiiUKcrLFUq7ce_x6Mnkim8org8BVZcjNuYUdbl_kGsbIexTyiCgL6Kcvg9Oa6SjTdbAEJZlmRos5WxmVZKc0-ij637BT1Wbf7cNnB2P5pizpTuJuMCvzK6o8RCPra3qlO/s320/dj.idzqhgfe.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239095326065657362" />

i am not kanye's biggest fan, but i am a huge fan of the "Good Morning" video, which is finally legally available for download. I am a Gadget whore. I love new technology, new phones, new mp3 players, new computer gizmos, all of it. I loveD my iPhone, I was an early adopter, and it WAS the perfect phone for so many reasons. One reason I have loved my iPhone so much is that it has succeeded where others have failed. Ask Matt, I am cellphone kryptonite. I don't kill phones by dropping them, swimming with them, or throwing them at ex-girlfriends, they just simply die after being too near to me (and my magnetic field altering genetic make up) for too long. My iPhone has lasted ONE year, I thought that never possible.
Now it would seem, one of two things has happened. Either my super(techno-destructive) powers have kicked in, OR Apple totally dropped the ball on the 2.0 software update. At this point it REALLY could be either. What is certain is that I currently HATE my iPhone, it is crashing on a nearly daily basis, I have re-installed several times and even met with a Mac Genius (he just simply said, "sorry dude, 2.1 is already in development"). SO the honeymoon is over, the love has soured, and I am officially looking for a new phone. Gulp. Yeah, Apple, uh, it's not me it's YOU. I just can't do this anymore. And iPhone, just to be clear, I'm not leaving you to go to iPhone 3G, I have no faith in her either, I don't know where my search will lead, or how long it will take but I need a phone that works, that lives up to it's claims. Maybe Apple engineered it this way, but I am not biting, as sexy as that white 16gig iPhone 3G looks, I am not buying it. Hell, I might not even get a phone with a QWERTY keyboard. Ok, that's a lie, I don't think I can go back to alpha-numeric, but I am keeping my options open. I am ready for a new gadget to run my finger over, to whisper sweet nothings to. Any recommendations?aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-73988974895129670752008-07-04T14:09:00.000-07:002008-07-04T14:12:45.368-07:00go watch this fun video, and rate itmy friend mikey made this video. i like it a lot and so should you. watch, enjoy.

Hideaway - Michael Warner

uh, the embed isn't working for some reason, but click on mike's name and go watch on imeem.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-85817392204961996622008-05-26T20:09:00.000-07:002008-05-27T15:42:50.915-07:00Phoenix, Say Cheesei am not the first to make this observation, nor the last but it is so amazing to this space geek that i had to share. this photo is from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter OF the Phoenix Lander on its final descent gently cradled under its open parachute.
why am i so amazed? a few reasons, first, this image is from ANOTHER planet. second, this image was taken BY a robot orbiting aforementioned OTHER planet, OF another robot descending towards yet again aforementioned OTHER planet. third, this image of a robot taken by another robot on another planet, is SO far away that it takes anywhere from 5-22 MINUTES (depending on earth's orbital location relative to mar's) for a radio signal to reach it. that is just plain amazing.

P.S. this is yet one more example of what i mean when i say "hey, if we can put robots on mars then we can solve...(fill in the blank with any problem we face)"aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-3031129309224100922008-05-26T00:17:00.000-07:002008-05-26T00:36:51.810-07:00Summer is the PERFECT time to snowboardso summer hasn't even officially started and the teasers for fall's snowboard dvd's are already poppin' up. get you some here at the official site, (or watch my crappy blogger version below). this is from Mack Dawg's new "DOUBLE DECADE". Watching the original trailer for Monster Squad made me all nostalgic for some of my faves from back in my 80s-hood. For the most part, I have been spending my break in front of the TV. Today, my roommate Morgan busted open his shiny, new LOST season 3 boxset. I forgot how much I love LOST. LOST is AWESOME. and if you disagree I will fight you. It has been about 6 months since the LOST season finale, and the new season starts January 31st. That still seems so far away, but it's only a month. So I'll be LOSTing my way thru Christmas break, I still have 2 weeks left and gimme a call if you wanna come over and re-cap on season 3, catch up, or just wax poetic about LOST. Season 4 begins soon.Very soon.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-67837886175806414272007-10-15T15:29:00.000-07:002007-10-15T15:48:57.671-07:00bikes are fun: the sequelthere is a story behind that alta bike in my last post. the short version, is it's this slimmed down back to basics approach of a bike. no gear options, shifters, or frivolous stuff, just the bare minimum to get your bike on. the alta bike comes from a design collective in Norway, sadly the bike currently is only available in europeland, and it would basically double the cost to buy and have it sent here. boo. so in my search for an equivalent off the shelf options available here in the US of A i found this gem from Specialized. i think we have a winner. it's called the langster, it comes in different "city" versions, with options and colors inspired by the city or the demands of its bike ridin' population. i love the chicago version, it's matte black, and so sleek but tough lookin'. new york is my number 2.
here are the links to the whole series:
chicago
boston
london
new york
seattle

PS apparently since nobody gets anywhere in LA except via automobile, we don't get a signature version.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-75208802935985508472007-10-13T18:36:00.000-07:002007-10-13T18:48:21.530-07:00bikes are fun

click 'em-

alta

hug some bike

aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-56580163682923014442007-09-20T00:01:00.000-07:002007-09-20T00:36:27.309-07:00It's The Little Things

Plastic makes things taste funny. Plastic cups are for kids (or clumsy people). Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi tastes significantly better in a glass, or a ceramic mug, than in a plastic cup. Glass and stoneware are more refined than plastic. Plastic has many great uses. My preferred drink container isn't one of them.

I moved recently and was without any mugs or glass glasses for a little while, I bought some mugs and tumblers this week and it has been wonderful enjoying real flavors again. Hot chocolate is hot chocolate-ier, water is snow-melt-mountain-spring-fresh (okay maybe that's due to the new brita filter), dark carbonated beverages, of the regular and unleaded varieties, are far more gratifying. Friends, get a glass, mug or both, take the taste test and tell me you don't notice the difference. Expose your taste buds to a whole new world.

Sometimes it is the little things.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-39138975525350104452007-09-07T15:51:00.000-07:002007-09-07T16:06:18.389-07:00i LOVE snowboarding

"picture this" by mack dawg productions, in shops this monthaaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-29520127380318846952007-09-07T15:46:00.000-07:002007-09-07T15:50:12.462-07:00"injured, injured bad"aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-25985015045803022122007-09-07T15:15:00.000-07:002007-09-07T15:33:28.602-07:00oh, techmologee. iPod Classic editionJust look at that sexy box o'music. It doesn't hurt that Nelly Furtado is on the screen either. I am so happy Apple finally updated the iPod line. My 5th generation iPod with video is hurtin'. Noir (that's its name) has been a good little music box, it has held my most cherished songs and allowed me to watch tv shows on the go, but it can barely live away from a power outlet. Very soon I will buy a new black 160gig iPod classic, maybe I'll call her Noir 2.0. Maybe I won't. P.S. I'm still amazed that I can carry TV shows and movies in my pocket.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589041215581093908.post-78440612939705937042007-08-25T00:45:00.000-07:002007-09-07T15:44:17.293-07:00just so you know
i went to disneyland today. had a bunch of fun, beat my personal best score on buzz lightyear's astroblasters and found out that i weigh 2400 tortillas. forget kilos or pounds, from now on i am declaring my weight in tortillas.

update: Disney's California Adventure has a Mission Tortilla Factory that's where I learned I weigh twothousandfourhundredtortillas.
yup, relationships and that dating thing. there is a veritable cornucopia of blogs out there with numerous posts dedicated, for better or worse, to the subject of dating, relationships and those mysterious members of the opposite sex. but i have to say my thing.
long story short, since moving to orange county, in the few limited social engagements i have attended, i have found that the dating discussion is just as alive and kicking (notice i didn't say 'well') as it is in LA. having participated in more than my fair share of these discussions, again for better or worse, i am all too familiar with the many assumptions, misconceptions and blame-shifting we are ALL guilty of. i bring this all up not as a complaint but to share the actions of a friend, whom shall remain nameless yet deserves the credit-i think- for making some change happen.
late one evening after watching lost or playing guitar hero or seeing a movie that none of the girls were interested in, the guys were hanging out somewhere. the dating talk started, and one guy simply said something like "i'm done talking about it..." but it wasn't a compliant, it was the preamble to his basic plan of action. he had decided we could all, boys and girls, talk ALL we want, but things were NOT going to change until two simple things occurred.
first, guys need to ask girls out. plain and simple.
second, girls need to say 'yes'. plain and simple.
and with that a sort of challenge was issued. not like a wager, not a "hey i bet i can get a date before you can", just a legitimate-"start asking, start dating and it'll happen"
want proof it works? go visit the ward i came from. i think my friend's simple actions spoke FAR louder than all the endless months of our talking and when i left LA i felt as though i were the only one NOT dating, but that was deliberate because i was moving, but i did suddenly feel like it was easier to do the asking. and it seemed like the girls were saying yes.
it ain't easy, but it is SIMPLE.
we've made this whole process too damn complicated, i have heard all the reasons, the pros and cons, the horror stories, the success stories. i'll still hypothesize, discuss, and have dr.laura moments, there is comfort in talking about the things that give us anxiety, but when it comes down to it, i gotta ask, and she's gotta say yes. it isn't a guarantee but it's a start.aaronymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01776820743822750575noreply@blogger.com5
